Ok! You want to know how to have your pictures included in the exhibit. Well.. this year, we are making it easier than ever. As of the 1st of October, this page will be replaced with a form that you can fill in, including three spots to attach your photos.
Deadline October 15th, 2011.
Simple as that!
This form will ask for some basic contact information, as well as ask for an optional description of your work (ie, Title/description, materials used, dimensions or anything else you would like to include should your image be selected by a print or online magazine)
This form will also have the Grant of Rights* included in it, which will allow your images to be used in print/online publications, as indicated, by submitting images to the exhibit, you automatically agree to said terms*.
When selecting your images for submission, choose your best one (or two or three), but remember, we have a limited amount of space, and if you limit your selection to your favorite, it will like get included.
When naming your files, you MUST name them correctly, we can not stress this enough, and incorrectly named files will not be considered. An organizational nightmare is the only way to describe a thousand incorrectly named files, and to be truthful, our time is important to us, please respect that.
Files must be named:
Country-FirstName-LastName-1.jpg, (ie. Netherlands-Elis-Vermeulen-1.jpg)
Image credits will read as Name, Country (ie. Cynthia Reynolds - Norway )
The fine print ;)
Use of the submitted photos, in part or in whole is at the sole discretion of FeltUnited. We retain the right to exclude any images that do not meet the FeltUnited colour theme, or are deemed to be inappropriate for any reason (ie, includes profanity etc.)
GRANT OF RIGHTS*: by submitting your images, you hereby grant the following: (edited versions of this grant will not be considered)
I hereby grant to FeltUnited the right to reproduce, in any size online or in print, the images included below in any work created by or in conjunction with FeltUnited. I hereby confirm that
(1) any and all information attached hereto is correct,
(2) I am either the sole owner of all rights to the work or I have been authorized by the owner(s) of such rights to grant the rights herein granted and
(3) the publication of the work will not violate the rights of any third party.
*On a side note: In past years, we had a few participants (or non-participants) who were unhappy with the 'Grant of Rights' form required to be filled out in order to submit images. We would like to stress, that the reason for which we have it set up, is simply to ensure that we can include images and the correct credits when we submit photos to media both online and in print. The last thing anyone needs is to get caught up in a third party rights issue for something that ends up in print.
Thanks for reading this far!.. and remember.. have fun with felt... That is what this is all about!
